Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Investment Trust, Information Technology and Footwear & Textile sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Balangoda Plantations PLC (CM:BALA), which rose 13.17% or 2.20 points to trade at 18.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Horana Plantations PLC (CM:HOPL) added 11.83% or 2.20 points to end at 20.80 and Elpitiya Plantations PLC (CM:ELPL) was up 9.47% or 1.80 points to 20.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which fell 15.39% or 400.10 points to trade at 2200.00 at the close. Lucky Lanka Milk Processing Company Ltd (CM:LLMP) declined 13.89% or 0.50 points to end at 3.10 and Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) was down 11.11% or 150.00 points to 1199.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 107 to 55 and 40 ended unchanged.
Shares in Lucky Lanka Milk Processing Company Ltd (CM:LLMP) fell to all time lows; losing 13.89% or 0.50 to 3.10.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 2.64% or 0.79 to $30.48 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 1.67% or 0.55 to hit $33.43 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.67% or 8.00 to trade at $1189.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.62% to 206.305, while USD/LKR fell 0.76% to 142.955.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 96.55.
