Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Trading, Telecoms and Motors sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.31% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI), which rose 18.54% or 250.20 points to trade at 1600.00 at the close. Meanwhile, SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 14.29% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.8000 and Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL) was up 10.35% or 5.90 points to 62.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT), which fell 12.37% or 14.10 points to trade at 99.90 at the close. Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO) declined 11.60% or 173.90 points to end at 1325.00 and Lucky Lanka Milk Processing Company Ltd (CM:LLMP) was down 9.76% or 0.400 points to 3.700.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 100 to 72 and 40 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) fell to 52-week lows; losing 12.37% or 14.10 to 99.90.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.35% or 0.66 to $48.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.31% or 0.66 to hit $49.69 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.28% or 3.55 to trade at $1283.35 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.16% to 205.395, while USD/LKR fell 0.09% to 144.610.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.46% at 94.85.
