Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Trading, Investment Trust and Construction & Engineering sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Cargo Boat Development Company PLC (CM:CABO), which rose 22.08% or 23.40 points to trade at 129.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Colombo Investment Trust PLC (CM:CIT) added 21.52% or 18.40 points to end at 103.90 and Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA) was up 18.47% or 10.90 points to 69.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sathosa Motors PLC (CM:SMOT), which fell 8.71% or 26.70 points to trade at 280.00 at the close. Abans Finance PLC (CM:AFSL) declined 8.38% or 3.10 points to end at 33.90 and Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO) was down 8.15% or 123.40 points to 1390.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 107 to 89 and 38 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 3.12% or 1.30 to $40.41 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 2.74% or 1.18 to hit $41.92 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.36% or 4.40 to trade at $1239.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.17% to 205.300, while USD/LKR fell 0.12% to 144.815.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 94.61.
