Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Services, Plantations and Information Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.26% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL), which rose 12.50% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.900 at the close. Meanwhile, Ramboda Falls PLC (CM:RFLL) added 10.76% or 2.40 points to end at 24.70 and F L C Hydro Power PLC (CM:HYDP) was up 10.53% or 0.60 points to 6.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Colombo City Holdings PLC (CM:PHAR), which fell 12.68% or 87.10 points to trade at 600.00 at the close. Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) declined 9.90% or 9.90 points to end at 90.10 and Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO) was down 9.26% or 125.00 points to 1225.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 86 to 61 and 52 ended unchanged.
Shares in Colombo City Holdings PLC (CM:PHAR) fell to 52-week lows; down 12.68% or 87.10 to 600.00. Shares in Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) fell to 52-week lows; falling 9.90% or 9.90 to 90.10.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.30% or 0.62 to $48.47 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.16% or 0.57 to hit $49.83 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.19% or 2.55 to trade at $1320.45 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.19% to 197.480, while USD/LKR rose 0.17% to 147.950.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 95.99.
