Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Services, Information Technology and Power & Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.21% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Tea Smallholder Factories PLC (CM:TSML), which rose 18.18% or 4.00 points to trade at 26.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Bansei Royal Resorts Hikkaduwa Limited (CM:BANS) added 11.63% or 1.00 points to end at 9.60 and Kelsey Developments PLC (CM:KDL) was up 10.20% or 3.60 points to 38.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI), which fell 24.43% or 329.80 points to trade at 1020.00 at the close. Kahawatte Plantations PLC (CM:KAHA) declined 21.49% or 7.50 points to end at 27.40 and Standard Capital PLC (CM:SING) was down 12.35% or 10.00 points to 71.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 87 to 75 and 58 ended unchanged.
Shares in Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) fell to 52-week lows; down 24.43% or 329.80 to 1020.00. Shares in Kahawatte Plantations PLC (CM:KAHA) fell to 52-week lows; falling 21.49% or 7.50 to 27.40.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.52% or 0.25 to $48.28 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.51% or 0.25 to hit $49.37 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.06% or 0.70 to trade at $1211.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.36% to 184.370, while USD/LKR rose 0.03% to 148.595.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 101.12.
