Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Information Technology, Beverages & Tobacco and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO), which rose 24.29% or 14.60 points to trade at 74.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Union Chemicals Lanka PLC (CM:UCHE) added 15.53% or 80.00 points to end at 595.00 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was up 12.50% or 0.1000 points to 0.9000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EB Creasy and Company PLC (CM:EBCR), which fell 7.69% or 100.00 points to trade at 1200.00 at the close. Ceylon Beverage Holdings PLC (CM:BREW) declined 7.41% or 48.00 points to end at 600.00 and Printcare PLC (CM:CARE) was down 6.39% or 2.60 points to 38.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 88 to 85 and 58 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.02% or 0.01 to $49.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.19% or 0.10 to hit $51.96 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.11% or 1.45 to trade at $1270.05 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.32% to 187.300, while USD/LKR rose 0.18% to 146.870.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 96.28.
