Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Construction & Engineering and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE), which rose 57.14% or 0.40 points to trade at 1.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Mercantile Shipping Company PLC (CM:MSL) added 23.97% or 20.30 points to end at 105.00 and Sigiriya Village Hotels PLC (CM:SIGV) was up 23.77% or 14.50 points to 75.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ), which fell 15.63% or 25.00 points to trade at 135.00 at the close. Ramboda Falls PLC (CM:RFLL) declined 11.20% or 2.90 points to end at 23.00 and Agalawatte Plantations PLC (CM:AGAL) was down 9.52% or 2.00 points to 19.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 91 to 82 and 53 ended unchanged.
Shares in Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ) fell to 3-years lows; falling 15.63% or 25.00 to 135.00.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.92% or 0.37 to $40.57 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.89% or 0.37 to hit $41.91 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.81% or 10.20 to trade at $1254.80 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.65% to 210.285, while USD/LKR fell 0.06% to 145.215.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.31% at 95.06.
