Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Information Technology, Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals and Trading sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL), which rose 12.50% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.900 at the close. Meanwhile, Autodrome PLC (CM:AUTO) added 10.68% or 8.20 points to end at 85.00 and Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) was up 9.99% or 139.80 points to 1539.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lankem Ceylon PLC (CM:LCEY), which fell 18.24% or 14.50 points to trade at 65.00 at the close. Hunas Falls Hotels PLC (CM:HUNA) declined 14.38% or 8.60 points to end at 51.20 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was down 11.11% or 0.100 points to 0.800.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 101 to 79 and 50 ended unchanged.
Shares in Lankem Ceylon PLC (CM:LCEY) fell to 5-year lows; down 18.24% or 14.50 to 65.00. Shares in Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) fell to 5-year lows; down 11.11% or 0.100 to 0.800.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.45% or 0.69 to $46.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.60% or 0.80 to hit $49.35 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.29% or 3.85 to trade at $1322.05 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.28% to 192.745, while USD/LKR rose 0.85% to 146.875.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 95.63.
