Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Investment Trust, Footwear & Textile and Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were eChannelling PLC (CM:ECL), which rose 19.23% or 1.50 points to trade at 9.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) added 12.50% or 0.100 points to end at 0.900 and EB Creasy and Company PLC (CM:EBCR) was up 11.03% or 137.90 points to 1388.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Colombo Investment Trust PLC (CM:CIT), which fell 8.00% or 8.00 points to trade at 92.00 at the close. Sigiriya Village Hotels PLC (CM:SIGV) declined 6.87% or 4.80 points to end at 65.10 and Hapugastenne Plantations PLC (CM:HAPU) was down 6.82% or 1.20 points to 16.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 99 to 86 and 48 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.87% or 1.41 to $47.70 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 3.24% or 1.65 to hit $49.23 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.49% or 6.60 to trade at $1339.60 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.20% to 190.455, while USD/LKR rose 0.25% to 145.815.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 94.74.
