Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Investment Trust, Telecoms and Information Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Asia Capital PLC (CM:ACAP), which rose 26.32% or 2.00 points to trade at 9.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) added 22.24% or 300.20 points to end at 1650.00 and F L C Holdings PLC (CM:FREE) was up 16.67% or 0.200 points to 1.400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT), which fell 18.72% or 25.80 points to trade at 112.00 at the close. Convenience Foods (Lanka) PLC (CM:SOY) declined 15.43% or 73.00 points to end at 400.00 and Serendib Engineering Group PLC (CM:IDL) was down 10.75% or 1.00 points to 8.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 107 to 83 and 40 ended unchanged.
Shares in Asia Capital PLC (CM:ACAP) rose to 52-week highs; up 26.32% or 2.00 to 9.60. Shares in Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) fell to 52-week lows; losing 18.72% or 25.80 to 112.00.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.24% or 0.61 to $48.49 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.24% or 0.62 to hit $49.27 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.09% or 1.15 to trade at $1218.65 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.74% to 215.030, while USD/LKR rose 0.20% to 148.525.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 95.54.
