Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Services and Land & Property sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI), which rose 22.24% or 300.20 points to trade at 1650.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Chilaw Finance PLC (CM:CHIL) added 20.32% or 3.80 points to end at 22.50 and Lake House Printers and Publishers PLC (CM:LPRT) was up 19.23% or 20.00 points to 124.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Colombo Fort Investments PLC (CM:CFI), which fell 10.59% or 9.00 points to trade at 76.00 at the close. PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) declined 7.14% or 0.100 points to end at 1.300 and Udapussellawa Plantations PLC (CM:UDPL) was down 6.94% or 1.50 points to 20.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 88 to 85 and 49 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.16% or 0.08 to $49.41 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.68% or 0.34 to hit $50.02 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.26% or 3.15 to trade at $1213.55 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.09% to 216.205, while USD/LKR fell 0.09% to 147.720.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 95.62.
