Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Services, Investment Trust and Plantations sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 1.31% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Udapussellawa Plantations PLC (CM:UDPL), which rose 25.00% or 3.90 points to trade at 19.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Maskeliya Plantations PLC (CM:MASK) added 23.38% or 1.80 points to end at 9.50 and Hapugastenne Plantations PLC (CM:HAPU) was up 22.29% or 3.90 points to 21.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL), which fell 14.29% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.600 at the close. Tangerine Beach Hotels PLC (CM:TANG) declined 10.34% or 6.90 points to end at 59.80 and Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) was down 10.33% or 218.80 points to 1900.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 178 to 20 and 33 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.42% or 0.15 to $35.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.50% or 0.19 to hit $37.50 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.11% or 13.50 to trade at $1232.80 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.01% to 206.540, while USD/LKR fell 0.22% to 144.800.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 94.76.
