Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Trading and Investment Trust sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.60% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Tangerine Beach Hotels PLC (CM:TANG), which rose 16.94% or 10.50 points to trade at 72.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Chilaw Finance PLC (CM:CHIL) added 12.06% or 2.40 points to end at 22.30 and Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) was up 11.11% or 0.100 points to 1.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Agstar PLC (CM:AGST), which fell 6.06% or 0.40 points to trade at 6.20 at the close. Pegasus Hotels of Ceylon PLC (CM:PEG) declined 5.68% or 2.10 points to end at 34.90 and Standard Capital PLC (CM:SING) was down 5.56% or 5.00 points to 85.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 141 to 55 and 43 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.83% or 0.35 to $41.58 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.95% or 0.42 to hit $43.87 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.02% or 0.30 to trade at $1367.70 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.34% to 191.090, while USD/LKR fell 0.05% to 145.570.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.16% at 95.60.
