Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI), which rose 22.23% or 300.10 points to trade at 1649.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO) added 20.55% or 340.90 points to end at 1999.90 and Ceylon Leather Products PLC (CM:CLPL) was up 15.20% or 9.50 points to 72.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which fell 23.20% or 603.10 points to trade at 1997.00 at the close. AIA Insurance Lanka PLC (CM:AVIV) declined 18.33% or 60.50 points to end at 269.50 and Kelsey Developments PLC (CM:KDL) was down 13.28% or 8.50 points to 55.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 115 to 69 and 50 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.63% or 0.24 to $38.08 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.10% or 0.04 to hit $40.09 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.59% or 7.30 to trade at $1235.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.25% to 214.105, while USD/LKR fell 0.18% to 148.940.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.26% at 94.54.
