Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Technology, Power & Energy and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.42%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Meanwhile, Associated Motor Finance Company PLC (CM:ASSO) added 24.83% or 111.80 points to end at 562.00 and Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) was up 19.50% or 73.10 points to 448.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Royal Palms Beach Hotels PLC (CM:RPBH), which fell 14.06% or 5.40 points to trade at 33.00 at the close. Autodrome PLC (CM:AUTO) declined 12.17% or 167.60 points to end at 1210.00 and Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO) was down 12.16% or 369.70 points to 2670.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 146 to 59 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Royal Palms Beach Hotels PLC (CM:RPBH) fell to 52-week lows; losing 14.06% or 5.40 to 33.00. Shares in Associated Motor Finance Company PLC (CM:ASSO) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 24.83% or 111.80 to 562.00. Shares in Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) rose to 3-years highs; up 19.50% or 73.10 to 448.00.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.37% or 1.07 to $46.16 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.95% or 0.94 to hit $49.31 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.27% or 3.00 to trade at $1112.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.02% to 214.300, while USD/LKR rose 0.45% to 141.690.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 96.47.
