Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction & Engineering, Land & Property and Trading sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL), which rose 50.00% or 0.300 points to trade at 0.900 at the close. Meanwhile, Lucky Lanka Milk Processing Company Ltd (CM:LLMP) added 14.29% or 0.500 points to end at 4.000 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was up 14.29% or 0.1000 points to 0.8000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Chilaw Finance PLC (CM:CHIL), which fell 15.57% or 3.80 points to trade at 20.60 at the close. Serendib Engineering Group PLC (CM:IDL) declined 7.89% or 0.60 points to end at 7.00 and Sigiriya Village Hotels PLC (CM:SIGV) was down 6.76% or 5.00 points to 69.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 115 to 66 and 42 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.59% or 0.27 to $45.41 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.59% or 0.28 to hit $47.09 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.18% or 2.45 to trade at $1334.65 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.45% to 194.915, while USD/LKR rose 0.02% to 145.710.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 95.99.
