Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Technology, Motors and Trading sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 14.29% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.8000 at the close. Meanwhile, Asia Asset Finance Ltd (CM:ASAS) added 13.33% or 0.200 points to end at 1.700 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was up 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.900 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pegasus Hotels of Ceylon PLC (CM:PEG), which fell 7.82% or 2.80 points to trade at 33.00 at the close. Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) declined 7.14% or 0.100 points to end at 1.300 and CT Land Development PLC (CM:CTLD) was down 5.92% or 3.40 points to 54.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 119 to 58 and 43 ended unchanged.
Shares in Asia Asset Finance Ltd (CM:ASAS) rose to 52-week highs; rising 13.33% or 0.200 to 1.700.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.07% or 0.03 to $44.73 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $46.84 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.16% or 2.05 to trade at $1309.35 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.23% to 190.870, while USD/LKR fell 0.16% to 145.375.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 96.03.
