Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Trading, Healthcare and Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.15% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Sathosa Motors PLC (CM:SMOT), which rose 15.59% or 46.50 points to trade at 344.80 at the close. Meanwhile, On`ally Holdings PLC (CM:ONAL) added 9.00% or 5.60 points to end at 67.80 and Bimputh Finance PLC (CM:BIMP) was up 8.52% or 6.40 points to 81.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which fell 33.33% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) declined 10.00% or 0.10 points to end at 1.00 and Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) was down 9.09% or 0.100 points to 1.100.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 127 to 104 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sathosa Motors PLC (CM:SMOT) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 15.59% or 46.50 to 344.80. Shares in Bimputh Finance PLC (CM:BIMP) rose to all time highs; up 8.52% or 6.40 to 81.50.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.97% or 0.44 to $44.71 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.40% or 0.20 to hit $49.39 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.08% or 0.90 to trade at $1084.70 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.08% to 207.670, while USD/LKR rose 0.05% to 133.130.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 98.03.
