Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Information Technology, Construction & Engineering and Investment Trust sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.14% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH), which rose 22.67% or 68.00 points to trade at 368.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) added 9.45% or 7.60 points to end at 88.00 and Alufab PLC (CM:ALUF) was up 7.34% or 3.40 points to 49.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Colombo Fort Investments PLC (CM:CFI), which fell 11.11% or 10.00 points to trade at 80.00 at the close. Colombo Investment Trust PLC (CM:CIT) declined 8.90% or 8.90 points to end at 91.10 and Ramboda Falls PLC (CM:RFLL) was down 6.05% or 1.90 points to 29.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 123 to 74 and 49 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.08% or 0.04 to $48.18 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.20% or 0.10 to hit $50.79 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.44% or 6.00 to trade at $1351.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.13% to 191.160, while USD/LKR fell 0.24% to 145.225.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.29% at 94.38.
