Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Information Technology and Diversified Holdings sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH), which rose 16.50% or 49.50 points to trade at 349.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Agalawatte Plantations PLC (CM:AGAL) added 12.89% or 2.50 points to end at 21.90 and Abans Finance PLC (CM:AFSL) was up 9.84% or 3.70 points to 41.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT), which fell 15.09% or 24.90 points to trade at 140.10 at the close. Lanka Ventures PLC (CM:LVEN) declined 11.11% or 5.00 points to end at 40.00 and EB Creasy and Company PLC (CM:EBCR) was down 10.15% or 135.60 points to 1200.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 98 to 83 and 51 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 2.33% or 1.02 to $44.80 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.90% or 0.85 to hit $45.47 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.44% or 5.55 to trade at $1279.95 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.22% to 211.815, while USD/LKR rose 0.03% to 145.885.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.43% at 93.67.
