Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Construction & Engineering, Stores & Supplies and Trading sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 14.29% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.8000 at the close. Meanwhile, Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) added 12.50% or 0.100 points to end at 0.900 and Commercial Credit and Finance PLC (CM:COMN) was up 11.57% or 5.60 points to 54.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL), which fell 21.68% or 498.20 points to trade at 1800.00 at the close. Autodrome PLC (CM:AUTO) declined 9.32% or 7.50 points to end at 73.00 and Pegasus Hotels of Ceylon PLC (CM:PEG) was down 7.32% or 2.70 points to 34.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 98 to 75 and 69 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.37% or 0.63 to $45.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.46% or 0.70 to hit $47.23 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.22% or 2.95 to trade at $1341.15 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.26% to 189.825, while USD/LKR fell 0.05% to 146.380.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 95.23.
