Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Stores & Supplies, Plantations and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Kalpitiya Beach Resort PLC (CM:CITK), which rose 16.13% or 0.500 points to trade at 3.600 at the close. Meanwhile, SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 14.29% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.8000 and Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO) was up 12.78% or 182.60 points to 1611.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL), which fell 10.29% or 7.00 points to trade at 61.00 at the close. Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) declined 10.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.900 and Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) was down 9.70% or 161.20 points to 1500.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 112 to 72 and 44 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.20% or 0.09 to $45.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.15% or 0.07 to hit $47.24 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1319.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.50% to 193.550, while USD/LKR fell 0.07% to 146.130.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 97.04.
