Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Trading, Information Technology and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE), which rose 14.29% or 0.30 points to trade at 2.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO) added 11.90% or 170.10 points to end at 1599.70 and Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) was up 9.58% or 3.00 points to 34.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Maskeliya Plantations PLC (CM:MASK), which fell 11.63% or 1.00 points to trade at 7.60 at the close. Royal Palms Beach Hotels PLC (CM:RPBH) declined 10.79% or 3.40 points to end at 28.10 and Hotel Sigiriya PLC (CM:HSIG) was down 9.17% or 11.00 points to 109.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 98 to 74 and 48 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.97% or 0.40 to $40.74 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.16% or 0.50 to hit $42.73 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1341.10 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.11% to 192.115, while USD/LKR rose 0.05% to 145.950.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.42% at 96.28.
