Sri Lanka stocks higher at close of trade; CSE All-Share up 0.02%

Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Palm Oil, Investment Trust and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.02%.

The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Agalawatte Plantations PLC (CM:AGAL), which rose 16.10% or 3.30 points to trade at 23.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Mercantile Shipping Company PLC (CM:MSL) added 12.56% or 9.70 points to end at 86.90 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was up 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.900 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which fell 24.89% or 376.20 points to trade at 1135.00 at the close. Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) declined 9.09% or 0.100 points to end at 1.000 and eChannelling PLC (CM:ECL) was down 7.06% or 0.60 points to 7.90.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 89 to 79 and 58 ended unchanged.

Shares in Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO) fell to 52-week lows; losing 24.89% or 376.20 to 1135.00.

Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.06% or 0.47 to $44.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.67% or 0.32 to hit $47.31 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.74% or 9.85 to trade at $1336.55 a troy ounce.

GBP/LKR was down 0.05% to 193.875, while USD/LKR rose 0.08% to 145.625.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.16% at 95.59.
