Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Information Technology, Plantations and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE), which rose 22.22% or 0.40 points to trade at 2.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Alufab PLC (CM:ALUF) added 18.99% or 8.30 points to end at 52.00 and Commercial Development Company PLC (CM:COMD) was up 16.25% or 13.00 points to 93.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Multi Finance PLC (CM:MULT), which fell 10.76% or 1.70 points to trade at 14.10 at the close. Harischandra Mills PLC (CM:HARI) declined 7.39% or 199.60 points to end at 2501.10 and Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR) was down 7.14% or 0.100 points to 1.300.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 110 to 65 and 40 ended unchanged.
Shares in Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 22.22% or 0.40 to 2.20.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.18% or 0.55 to $46.25 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.53% or 0.74 to hit $47.73 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.24% or 3.20 to trade at $1338.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 1.01% to 194.340, while USD/LKR rose 0.26% to 146.825.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 96.34.
