Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 2.62%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Gamesa (MC:GAM), which rose 2.32% or 0.390 points to trade at 17.195 at the close. Meanwhile, Obrascon Huarte Lain (MC:OHL) added 0.60% or 0.037 points to end at 6.181 and Red Electrica Corp. (MC:REE) was up 0.50% or 0.390 points to 77.970 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG), which fell 5.30% or 0.376 points to trade at 6.715 at the close. BBVA (MC:BBVA) declined 4.78% or 0.300 points to end at 5.983 and Banco Popular (MC:POP) was down 4.77% or 0.119 points to 2.375.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 153 to 53 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 2.27% or 28.75 to $1295.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.48% or 0.22 to hit $45.81 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.03% or 0.49 to trade at $47.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.78% to 1.1440, while EUR/GBP rose 0.67% to 0.7823.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.63% at 93.14.
