Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Building & Construction, Telecoms & IT and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 1.32%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were B. Sabadell (MADRID:SABE), which rose 1.59% or 0.025 points to trade at 1.627 at the close. Meanwhile, Bankia (MADRID:BKIA) added 1.37% or 0.015 points to end at 1.112 and Bankinter (MADRID:BKT) was up 0.75% or 0.048 points to 6.457 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcel. Mittal (MADRID:MTS), which fell 8.02% or 0.404 points to trade at 4.634 at the close. Acerinox (MADRID:ACX) declined 6.08% or 0.507 points to end at 7.835 and FCC (MADRID:FCC) was down 5.82% or 0.399 points to 6.462.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 165 to 42 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Arcel. Mittal (MADRID:MTS) fell to all time lows; down 8.02% or 0.404 to 4.634. Shares in Acerinox (MADRID:ACX) fell to 52-week lows; down 6.08% or 0.507 to 7.835. Shares in FCC (MADRID:FCC) fell to 52-week lows; losing 5.82% or 0.399 to 6.462.
Gold for December delivery was down 1.10% or 12.60 to $1133.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.84% or 1.30 to hit $44.40 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.60% or 1.26 to trade at $47.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.42% to 1.1241, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.7395.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.32% at 96.06.
