Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 1.13%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which rose 3.36% or 0.189 points to trade at 5.818 at the close. Meanwhile, Repsol (MC:REP) added 1.03% or 0.125 points to end at 12.215 and Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) was up 0.45% or 0.145 points to 32.155 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG), which fell 2.37% or 0.110 points to trade at 4.541 at the close. Inditex (MC:ITX) declined 2.36% or 0.755 points to end at 31.195 and Aena Aeropuertos SA (MC:AENA) was down 2.02% or 2.60 points to 126.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 135 to 59 and 19 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.35% or 4.65 to $1352.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.42% or 0.65 to hit $46.39 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.24% or 0.60 to trade at $48.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.75% to 1.1267, while EUR/GBP fell 0.37% to 0.8652.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.76% at 94.85.
