Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Building & Construction and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 1.13%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Telefonica (MADRID:TEF), which rose 0.41% or 0.052 points to trade at 12.992 at the close. Meanwhile, Endesa (MADRID:ELE) added 0.33% or 0.055 points to end at 16.850 and Int.Airl.Grp (MADRID:ICAG) was up 0.24% or 0.017 points to 7.161 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sacyr (MADRID:SCYR), which fell 3.91% or 0.147 points to trade at 3.613 at the close. Obrascon Huarte Lain (MADRID:OHL) declined 3.25% or 0.495 points to end at 14.760 and Inditex (MADRID:ITX) was down 2.61% or 0.787 points to 29.442.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 171 to 37 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Obrascon Huarte Lain (MADRID:OHL) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.25% or 0.495 to 14.760.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.06% or 0.70 to $1179.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.87% or 0.53 to hit $60.24 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.99% or 0.65 to trade at $64.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.1278, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.7251.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 94.83.
