Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.65%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Indra A (MC:IDR), which rose 2.21% or 0.216 points to trade at 10.005 at the close. Meanwhile, Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) added 1.72% or 0.320 points to end at 18.955 and Merlin Properties SA (MC:MRL) was up 1.64% or 0.15 points to 9.58 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which fell 3.18% or 0.126 points to trade at 3.835 at the close. Banco Santander (MC:SAN) declined 1.76% or 0.073 points to end at 4.072 and Ferrovial (MC:FER) was down 1.66% or 0.310 points to 18.350.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 93 to 91 and 22 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.31% or 3.90 to $1249.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.22% or 0.59 to hit $47.82 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.40% or 0.68 to trade at $48.04 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.1206, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.7744.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 95.34.
