Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Sacyr (MC:SCYR), which rose 3.51% or 0.057 points to trade at 1.683 at the close. Meanwhile, Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) added 2.22% or 0.091 points to end at 4.195 and Gamesa (MC:GAM) was up 1.25% or 0.220 points to 17.820 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Acciona (MC:ANA), which fell 3.28% or 2.280 points to trade at 67.300 at the close. Obrascon Huarte Lain (MC:OHL) declined 2.25% or 0.117 points to end at 5.087 and Indra A (MC:IDR) was down 1.71% or 0.169 points to 9.744.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 98 to 86 and 19 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.33% or 4.15 to $1276.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.25% or 1.50 to hit $47.71 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.70% or 1.29 to trade at $49.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.1332, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.7865.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.16% at 94.45.
