Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Sacyr (MADRID:SCYR), which rose 2.10% or 0.084 points to trade at 4.076 at the close. Meanwhile, Obrascon Huarte Lain (MADRID:OHL) added 1.97% or 0.400 points to end at 20.725 and Arcel. Mittal (MADRID:MTS) was up 1.88% or 0.185 points to 10.040 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grifols (MADRID:GRLS), which fell 3.84% or 1.555 points to trade at 38.920 at the close. Bankia (MADRID:BKIA) declined 2.60% or 0.033 points to end at 1.238 and Int.Airl.Grp (MADRID:ICAG) was down 2.14% or 0.175 points to 7.998.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 137 to 76 and 3 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.81% or 9.80 to $1213.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.33% or 0.19 to hit $57.18 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.32% or 0.20 to trade at $65.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.67% to 1.0963, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.7161.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.61% at 96.31.
