Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Services and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which rose 2.67% or 0.141 points to trade at 5.415 at the close. Meanwhile, Ferrovial (MC:FER) added 2.04% or 0.370 points to end at 18.550 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) was up 1.64% or 0.185 points to 11.465 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Popular (MC:POP), which fell 3.70% or 0.047 points to trade at 1.223 at the close. Bankia (MC:BKIA) declined 2.46% or 0.017 points to end at 0.675 and Repsol (MC:REP) was down 1.87% or 0.220 points to 11.545.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 105 to 80 and 32 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.04% or 0.50 to $1327.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.02% or 0.44 to hit $42.69 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $44.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.0989, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8367.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 97.17.
