Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which rose 2.19% or 0.112 points to trade at 5.236 at the close. Meanwhile, Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG) added 1.85% or 0.094 points to end at 5.163 and Mapfre (MC:MAP) was up 1.30% or 0.027 points to 2.099 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were BBVA (MC:BBVA), which fell 2.81% or 0.150 points to trade at 5.195 at the close. Repsol (MC:REP) declined 0.86% or 0.105 points to end at 12.040 and Abertis Infr (MC:ABE) was down 0.47% or 0.065 points to 13.625.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 127 to 62 and 27 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.08% or 1.05 to $1328.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.65% or 0.77 to hit $45.88 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.68% or 0.80 to trade at $46.81 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.36% to 1.1069, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.8348.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 96.59.
