Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which rose 2.67% or 0.243 points to trade at 9.346 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) added 2.40% or 0.575 points to end at 24.570 and Melia Hotels (MC:MEL) was up 2.23% or 0.255 points to 11.690 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which fell 3.36% or 0.331 points to trade at 9.510 at the close. Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) declined 2.67% or 0.108 points to end at 3.938 and Bankia SA (MC:BKIA) was down 1.74% or 0.067 points to 3.791.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 96 to 87 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.36% or 0.331 to 9.510. Shares in Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) fell to 5-year lows; down 2.67% or 0.108 to 3.938.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.59% or 7.51 to $1282.81 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.57% or 0.32 to hit $56.74 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.39% or 0.24 to trade at $62.46 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.1742, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.8874.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 93.88.
