Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 1.85%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Gamesa (MC:GAM), which rose 3.72% or 0.745 points to trade at 20.755 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Santander (MC:SAN) added 3.50% or 0.137 points to end at 4.050 and Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) was up 3.18% or 0.074 points to 2.398 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which fell 2.08% or 0.115 points to trade at 5.410 at the close. Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) declined 0.16% or 0.070 points to end at 43.010 and Bankia (MC:BKIA) was up 0.14% or 0.001 points to 0.729.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 162 to 37 and 19 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.08% or 0.95 to $1256.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.56% or 0.28 to hit $50.16 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.54% or 0.28 to trade at $51.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.59% to 1.0993, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.9014.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.40% at 97.92.
