Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 1.33%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Banco Popular (MC:POP), which rose 3.13% or 0.036 points to trade at 1.187 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Santander (MC:SAN) added 2.84% or 0.104 points to end at 3.768 and Mapfre (MC:MAP) was up 2.65% or 0.061 points to 2.365 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Viscofan (MC:VIS), which fell 0.33% or 0.160 points to trade at 49.100 at the close. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) declined 0.28% or 0.055 points to end at 19.445 and Red Electrica Corporacion SA (MC:REE) was down 0.23% or 0.045 points to 19.445.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 143 to 44 and 19 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.02% or 0.25 to $1343.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.99% or 0.47 to hit $47.88 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.26% or 0.62 to trade at $49.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.1309, while EUR/GBP fell 0.48% to 0.8578.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 94.49.
