Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.93%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG), which rose 5.00% or 0.243 points to trade at 5.103 at the close. Meanwhile, Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) added 3.03% or 0.152 points to end at 5.170 and Banco Santander (MC:SAN) was up 2.69% or 0.100 points to 3.824 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which fell 0.85% or 0.170 points to trade at 19.830 at the close. Ferrovial (MC:FER) declined 0.80% or 0.145 points to end at 18.015 and Merlin Properties SA (MC:MRL) was down 0.60% or 0.06 points to 9.75.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 126 to 70 and 20 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 1.01% or 13.55 to $1330.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.68% or 0.75 to hit $45.50 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.88% or 0.87 to trade at $47.13 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.26% to 1.1119, while EUR/GBP fell 1.27% to 0.8337.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.29% at 96.08.
