Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Services and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.83%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which rose 7.74% or 0.312 points to trade at 4.341 at the close. Meanwhile, Sacyr (MC:SCYR) added 3.43% or 0.055 points to end at 1.660 and Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) was up 3.15% or 0.800 points to 26.200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which fell 0.34% or 0.035 points to trade at 10.135 at the close. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) declined 0.30% or 0.060 points to end at 20.060 and Indra A (MC:IDR) was down 0.15% or 0.015 points to 10.065.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 143 to 52 and 24 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 1.25% or 15.60 to $1259.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.56% or 0.62 to hit $40.34 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.88% or 0.79 to trade at $42.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1416, while EUR/GBP fell 0.76% to 0.8017.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.31% at 93.93.
