Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Financial Services & Real Estate and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.70%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were B. Sabadell (MADRID:SABE), which rose 5.80% or 0.131 points to trade at 2.388 at the close. Meanwhile, Arcel. Mittal (MADRID:MTS) added 5.24% or 0.476 points to end at 9.565 and FCC (MADRID:FCC) was up 4.84% or 0.520 points to 11.255 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Acciona (MADRID:ANA), which fell 1.32% or 0.935 points to trade at 69.875 at the close. Mediaset ESP (MADRID:TL5) declined 1.21% or 0.145 points to end at 11.860 and DIA (MADRID:DIDA) was down 0.99% or 0.074 points to 7.369.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 123 to 83 and 4 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was down 1.50% or 17.90 to $1176.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.81% or 0.47 to hit $57.27 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.73% or 0.47 to trade at $65.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.49% to 1.0876, while EUR/GBP fell 0.33% to 0.7164.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.39% at 97.05.
