Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Building & Construction and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.65%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MADRID:MTS), which rose 5.24% or 0.511 points to trade at 10.255 at the close. Meanwhile, Indra A (MADRID:IDR) added 2.58% or 0.238 points to end at 9.476 and Abertis Infr (MADRID:ABE) was up 2.27% or 0.365 points to 16.420 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Telefonica (MADRID:TEF), which fell 1.22% or 0.163 points to trade at 13.137 at the close. Abengoa B (MADRID:ABGek) declined 1.10% or 0.033 points to end at 2.957 and FCC (MADRID:FCC) was down 0.90% or 0.100 points to 11.025.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 140 to 69 and 5 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.42% or 5.10 to $1223.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.26% or 0.76 to hit $59.74 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.85% or 0.57 to trade at $66.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1377, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.7221.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 93.61.
