Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Financial Services & Real Estate and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Repsol (MC:REP), which rose 7.00% or 0.810 points to trade at 12.380 at the close. Meanwhile, Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) added 4.25% or 1.710 points to end at 41.975 and Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) was up 3.85% or 0.203 points to 5.477 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were FCC (MC:FCC), which fell 1.97% or 0.145 points to trade at 7.233 at the close. Acciona (MC:ANA) declined 1.01% or 0.790 points to end at 77.170 and Inditex (MC:ITX) was down 0.90% or 0.307 points to 33.788.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 140 to 69 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 1.58% or 17.90 to $1118.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.77% or 1.28 to hit $47.42 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.51% or 1.23 to trade at $50.02 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.50% to 1.0961, while EUR/GBP fell 0.53% to 0.7108.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.32% at 97.31.
