Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Financial Services & Real Estate and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Banco Popular (MC:POP), which rose 5.99% or 0.051 points to trade at 0.902 at the close. Meanwhile, Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) added 5.88% or 0.390 points to end at 7.023 and ACS Const. (MC:ACS) was up 2.24% or 0.595 points to 27.150 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were B. Sabadell (MC:SABE), which fell 4.37% or 0.055 points to trade at 1.203 at the close. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) declined 2.07% or 0.380 points to end at 17.950 and Gamesa (MC:GAM) was down 1.53% or 0.290 points to 18.645.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 144 to 59 and 22 ended unchanged.
Shares in Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 5.88% or 0.390 to 7.023.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.16% or 1.90 to $1211.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.78% or 0.86 to hit $47.38 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.06% or 0.52 to trade at $48.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.0621, while EUR/GBP rose 0.59% to 0.8557.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 101.13.
