Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Telecoms & IT and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Int.Airl.Grp (MADRID:ICAG), which rose 4.29% or 0.321 points to trade at 7.801 at the close. Meanwhile, Mapfre (MADRID:MAP) added 1.53% or 0.051 points to end at 3.373 and Arcel. Mittal (MADRID:MTS) was up 1.48% or 0.141 points to 9.669 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were FCC (MADRID:FCC), which fell 1.44% or 0.165 points to trade at 11.305 at the close. Bankia (MADRID:BKIA) declined 0.96% or 0.012 points to end at 1.235 and Endesa (MADRID:ELE) was down 0.58% or 0.102 points to 17.633.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 136 to 83 and 1 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 1.36% or 16.00 to $1190.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.63% or 0.37 to hit $58.78 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.28% or 0.18 to trade at $66.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.1157, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.7376.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 95.55.
