Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Tecnicas Reunidas (MADRID:TRE), which rose 4.99% or 2.130 points to trade at 44.820 at the close. Meanwhile, Bolsas y Mercados Espanoles (MADRID:BME) added 1.99% or 0.770 points to end at 39.470 and Mapfre (MADRID:MAP) was up 1.61% or 0.052 points to 3.277 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcel. Mittal (MADRID:MTS), which fell 2.50% or 0.260 points to trade at 10.130 at the close. FCC (MADRID:FCC) declined 1.18% or 0.130 points to end at 10.925 and Bankia (MADRID:BKIA) was down 0.90% or 0.011 points to 1.212.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 103 to 102 and 7 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.13% or 1.60 to $1226.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.17% or 0.10 to hit $60.44 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.71% or 0.47 to trade at $66.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.86% to 1.1351, while EUR/GBP fell 0.53% to 0.7242.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.76% at 94.00.
