Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Services and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.22%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Int.Airl.Grp (MADRID:ICAG), which rose 1.24% or 0.097 points to trade at 7.931 at the close. Meanwhile, Caixabank SA (MADRID:CABK) added 1.15% or 0.049 points to end at 4.298 and Sacyr (MADRID:SCYR) was up 1.11% or 0.045 points to 4.085 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mapfre (MADRID:MAP), which fell 2.34% or 0.082 points to trade at 3.428 at the close. FCC (MADRID:FCC) declined 0.82% or 0.090 points to end at 10.905 and Grifols (MADRID:GRLS) was down 0.62% or 0.250 points to 40.180.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 107 to 97 and 6 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.76% or 9.20 to $1193.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.99% or 0.57 to hit $57.89 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.26% or 0.17 to trade at $63.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.48% to 1.0756, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.7218.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.42% at 98.03.
