Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Building & Construction, Consumer Goods and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Repsol (MADRID:REP), which rose 3.58% or 0.372 points to trade at 10.783 at the close. Meanwhile, Obrascon Huarte Lain (MADRID:OHL) added 3.15% or 0.370 points to end at 12.130 and Gamesa (MADRID:GAM) was up 2.24% or 0.278 points to 12.658 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcel. Mittal (MADRID:MTS), which fell 4.01% or 0.187 points to trade at 4.470 at the close. Bankia (MADRID:BKIA) declined 1.73% or 0.020 points to end at 1.138 and Telefonica (MADRID:TEF) was down 1.71% or 0.185 points to 10.645.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 117 to 93 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Arcel. Mittal (MADRID:MTS) fell to all time lows; losing 4.01% or 0.187 to 4.470.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.08% or 0.90 to $1114.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.09% or 0.04 to hit $45.13 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.80% or 0.39 to trade at $47.98 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1190, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.7383.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.19% at 96.23.
