Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 1.10%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS), which rose 2.63% or 2.110 points to trade at 82.440 at the close. Meanwhile, Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) added 2.08% or 0.0645 points to end at 3.1645 and Surgut-pref (MCX:SNGS_p) was up 1.51% or 0.470 points to 31.690 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY), which fell 2.79% or 25.00 points to trade at 872.00 at the close. Yandex NV (MCX:YNDX) declined 2.77% or 39.00 points to end at 1370.00 and Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) was down 2.73% or 9.00 points to 320.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 140 to 89 and 24 ended unchanged.

The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 19.64% to 21.110 a new 52-week low.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.44% or 5.95 to $1335.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.94% or 1.40 to hit $46.22 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 3.24% or 1.62 to trade at $48.37 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.16% to 64.7234, while EUR/RUB rose 0.60% to 72.564.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.45% at 95.47.
