Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX declined 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS), which rose 4.58% or 0.950 points to trade at 21.700 at the close. Meanwhile, RusHydro JSC (MCX:HYDR) added 3.68% or 0.0324 points to end at 0.9127 and MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) was up 3.51% or 19.00 points to 561.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO), which fell 3.48% or 0.1375 points to trade at 3.8105 at the close. MVideo (MCX:MVID) declined 2.76% or 10.40 points to end at 365.80 and ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) was down 2.36% or 2.140 points to 88.610.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 123 to 99 and 23 ended unchanged.
Shares in RusHydro JSC (MCX:HYDR) rose to 3-years highs; rising 3.68% or 0.0324 to 0.9127.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.07% to 26.820.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.40% or 4.80 to $1186.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 3.87% or 1.82 to hit $45.26 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 3.64% or 1.79 to trade at $47.42 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.78% to 65.3450, while EUR/RUB rose 0.99% to 69.446.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.05% at 101.16.
