Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Mining and Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were FSK EES (MCX:FEES), which rose 3.60% or 0.0039 points to trade at 0.1120 at the close. Meanwhile, MTS (MCX:MTSS) added 2.14% or 5.40 points to end at 258.00 and NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) was up 1.85% or 11.90 points to 654.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS), which fell 3.87% or 2.960 points to trade at 73.590 at the close. ANK Bashneft OAO Pref (MCX:BANE_p) declined 3.29% or 68.0 points to end at 2002.0 and Lenta Ltd (MCX:LNTA) was down 2.83% or 12 points to 429.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 115 to 107 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in FSK EES (MCX:FEES) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.60% or 0.0039 to 0.1120. Shares in NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.85% or 11.90 to 654.50.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.85% to 34.790.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.29% or 3.60 to $1251.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.18% or 0.09 to hit $48.58 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.06% or 0.03 to trade at $48.78 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.02% to 66.7664, while EUR/RUB rose 0.10% to 74.854.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 95.42.
